Is it Jarrett Stidham’s time to rise in New England?

Tom Brady is done in New England. The star went through a slump year in his last year on his contract. He announced on social media he’d not be coming back. The Patriots drafted former Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham in the 4th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Stidham was Brady’s backup in 2019. Will he start in 2020? The chances keep rising considering that two of the Patriots’ main quarterback targets in free agency were both signed. But the Patriots still have the draft to grab a star QB. While Jarrett Stidham put up the best numbers of any rookie quarterback in the preseason, I don’t think the Patriots trust him enough to go ahead and hand him the reins. Here’s my theory, the Patriots will either sign a decent quarterback in free agency, which is going on now, or draft a decent quarterback to compete with Stidham to snatch the starting job. But guess what? If you’re an Auburn fan, here’s the dream scenario. The Carolina Panthers just signed star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, which means Cam Newton will probably be done starting for the Panthers. Newton was given the option to request a trade. He says he didn’t ask for it and clearly doesn’t want to leave Carolina but he may be forced out and the most likely place for him to sign is New England. What if Cam Newton teams up with Jarrett Stidham to make an Auburn quarterback duo. That would be awesome! War Eagle! #AUNextLevel
