Which Tigers in the NFL will be on the rise?

Assuming the monstrous coronavirus doesn’t ruin any football, the upcoming NFL season will be very exiting as fans crave for sports after most sports have been cancelled. Which former Tigers will be on the rise and who will make an impact?

Carlton Davis & Jamel Dean – CBs – Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carlton Davis was drafted in the second round of the 2018 draft. A year later Jamel dean was drafted in the third round. The two fantastic cornerbacks out of Auburn were drafted by the same team. The Buccaneers were willing to add the two to start for Tampa Bay. Both are great players on the rise who enjoy playing together. Expect Davis to have a breakout year, Dean will do good but not as good as Davis.

Kerryon Johnson – RB – Detroit Lions. Most Auburn fans know the name. Kerryon is nearly a legend on the plains. His style of running is a unique one. He was drafted in the second round in 2018. The only thing holding him back from being a star in the pros is injuries. Twice Kerryon’s year has been ended by injuries. It’s rough but if Kerryon stays healthy this season he’ll easily be a star.

Derrick Brown – DL – N/A. Derrick Brown became arguably the best defensive lineman in AU history in 2019. His highlight reel is unbelievable. He’s destined to be a future star. But with which team? If you didn’t know, Brown hasn’t been drafted yet. But he’s expected to go in the top 10. Brown’s dominant rise could begin in his rookie season. It’s not out of the question.

Noah Igbinoghene – CB – N/A. While Igbinoghene is another player who hasn’t been drafted yet, expect him to go in the late first round or early second round. Team that are very interested include the 49ers and the Cowboys. Both teams are in heavy need of a corner. Igbinoghene was a no-name receiver for Auburn in 2017. But in 2018 he transitioned to defensive back and made a big splash. His cover skills can only get better and his kick return athleticism is fantastic.

Cam Newton – QB – Carolina Panthers (will be with new team soon). Okay so this is more of a maybe. If Cam stays in Carolina, which is very unlikely, he won’t be on the rise. If he leaves and starts in somewhere like LA or New England, he’ll probably be on the rise. Even if Newton doesn’t go to the Patriots, it’s probably still going to be a former Auburn QB that starts there. Which brings us to my last player…..

Jarrett Stidham – QB – New England Patriots. So, Tom Brady is out…… Jarrett Stidham is getting lots of rumors favoring him. Apparently, the Patriots love him. And that doesn’t surprise me. He’s really good even though he went through a slump in his Junior year at Auburn. Expect big things from the young star. He’ll impress starter or not starter.
