Two Auburn receivers might switch to defense

A pair of Auburn’s wide receivers may switch to defense. Matthew Hill and Jashawn Sheffield. The news was first reported by 247 Sports and Rivals. According to sources, Gus Malzahn said on a radio station Friday morning, that they’d thought about moving the pair to defense before the coronavirus broke out. Hill and Sheffield, both young receivers played some defense in high school. Sheffield I think is the better defensive player. We’ve seen how talented Matthew Hill can be on offense. He’s very fast and he made an impressive touchdown catch in last year’s A-Day game. Hill has had some light frustration in not being used very much in his freshman year. But Hill wasn’t used much this year either. Personally I think that’s a coaching problem. But it might do Hill better to switch to defense. I don’t know about Sheffield though. He’s only played a year at Auburn and his snaps are little to none. He’s an athlete for sure but he almost has more of a safety like body. This isn’t a done deal for Hill and Sheffield but it’s very possible.
