The G-League stole Jalen Green from Auburn and Memphis. But now what will our team look like in 2020? I’ll show you. And there’s still a lot to be exited about.
Starting 5
Let’s take a look at the projected starting 5. Sharife Cooper is a lock. But who else will start? Let’s take a look.
Sharife Cooper

Point Guard
Sharife Cooper will be the starting point guard for Auburn in 2020. The 5-star freshman is the highest prospect to ever sign under Bruce Pearl and he may be the most underrated recruit in the 2020 class. His elite speed, passing, and scoring abilities have never been seen before at Auburn. I can’t wait for him to star in 2020.
Tyrell Jones

Shooting Guard
Although Jones wasn’t rewarded much playing time in 2019 and early 2020, the freshman is a very good player. The speedy sophomore nick named Turbo, is a point guard but I think he’ll play shooting guard as a starter. I’m constantly impressed by Jones’ high school highlights and I can’t wait to see him in 2020.
Devan Cambridge

Small Forward
While I’m very tempted to say Allen Flanigan or Chris Moore will start here, I think Devan Cambridge will be the starter here. Don’t you just love that smooth little three point pump fake he does. It’s so satisfying. Oh and to go with that, he always makes the three pointer after that.
JT Thor

Power Forward
JT Thor is a solid mix between Anfernee McLemore and Danjel Purifoy, who both played forward for the Tigers last year. Thor is a lefty who can knock down any shot and block any shot. He’s an all around force at the rim and he’ll fit right in the Bruce Pearl’s team.
Stretch Akingbola

Center
First off, you might be wondering, is Stretch his real name? No it’s not, but it’s way easier than Babatunde. The African native provides a strong force at the rim and a possible great scorer. I hope we can develop him into a better scorer. But come on, it’s Bruce Pearl, how can I worry?
Other key players
Bruce Pearl is famous for his points off the bench. Now let’s see who’ll be coming of the bench for the Tigers.
Jamal Johnson

Shooting Guard
Jamal Johnson, the transfer from Memphis, had a smaller role in Bruce Pearl’s 2019 Tigers. But I think he’ll make a big impact in 2020. The junior is a great perimeter shooter. For some reason, sometimes when Johnson was open on the wing, his teammates wouldn’t see him and pass the ball to the opposite wing. That may have kept him from making a huge impact. But with Sharife Cooper at point, he’ll get the ball plenty.
Jaylin Williams

Power Forward
Jaylin Williams quickly became one of the many favorites among Auburn fans after his stellar performance against Tennessee. His signature play became a self lob off the back board dunk. If that makes sense. You kinda have to see it to understand. The mobile forward still has some areas to improve in. But I think he’ll do a lot this year.
Allen Flanigan

Small Forward
Allen Flanigan is a quick left handed forward that can make hard shots and finish with contact. His three point shooting could use some work but other wise I think he’ll be a huge impact player for us this year.
Chris Moore
Forward
The former Arkansas player of the year, Chris Moore will provide a new style of player that Auburn’s never really seen before. The freshman will have a huge role in Auburn’s new look team.
Justin Powell

Shooting Guard
A steady pull up shooter, Justin Powell is going to be a fantastic shooter for Auburn that is much needed since our whole Final Four run was all because of three point shooting.
