Inside the unknown players: Ja’Varrius Johnson

There are plenty of talented players Auburn fans have never heard of. In this new series, I’ll show you some of them. And how they can make an impact on the Tigers in the future. Today I’m breaking down wide receiver Ja’Varrius Johnson.

Ja’Varrius Johnson is a quick and flashy wide recdiver. That’s the first thing you need to know. He’s also pretty small at 5’9. If he reminds me of one former Tiger, it’s Ryan Davis. Johnson’s a slot receiver who redshirted the 2019 season. The former 4-star is from Trussville, AL, where Auburn has had success from in the past. See Noah Igbinoghene. Johnson should be a complement to Bo Nix since he’s so shifty and quick. He’ll be more of a quick completion and run after catch player. Just like Davis was. I don’t see Nix heaving it down field on a go route to Johnson. Unless he’s wide open. I can’t wait to see how Johnson does in the new Chad Morris offense this season. War Eagle!
