Welcome to the second article of Inside the unknown players. Today, we’ll take a brief look at sophomore defensive end Jaren Handy. Enjoy this new segment. And if you like it, check out my last article on this series.
Jaren Handy is one of my favorite rising Auburn athletes. With most of the Auburn defensive line power gone, Handy will have a very good shot at taking over a starting position. Handy, nicknamed ‘Stone’ for his toughness, is a very good run stopper. Much like Derrick Brown, Handy somewhat lacks the ability to pass rush, but makes up for it with his run stopping. Former Tigers star Marlon Davidson said “I see a bright future for him.” Hopefully that’s the case. While the defesive line rotation for Auburn in 2020 is still unknown, Jaren ‘Stone’ Handy could do a lot of good things for Kevin Steele’s defense next season. War Eagle!
