Welcome to the third edition of Inside the unknown players. Today we’ll take a look at a star running back that you might not know of yet, but will know by the season opener. Let’s see what impact Mark Antony Richards will make on the Auburn offense this year.
Mark Antony Richards is a fantastic player. The former 4-star running back sat out in 2019 due to injury, but is ready to go for 2020. Richards is getting a lot of praise from former Auburn superstar and current running backs coach Cadillac Williams. Williams compares him to former Auburn star running back Kerryon Johnson. Let’s hope those comparisons are true. He’ll likely get a big role in Auburn’s offense in 2020. I see him being the #1 third down back. I think that because of his receiving ability. He also fits the running back draw scheme if Auburn should run a draw on a third & medium. Richards’ brother Ahmmon Richards, was predicted to be a first round pick in the 2019 NFL draft before suffering a season ending injury in the 2018 season. Ahmmon was a receiver. It looks like that’s where Mark Antony gets his receiving skills from. I can’t wait to see Mark Antony Richards’ role in Auburn’s new offense. War Eagle!
