To begin this article, I’d like to apologize for the lack of posts in recent days. One of the reasons for this was technical difficulties. Also, there’s not been very much to write about. But, now I’m going to give you some really exiting news. It’s about Auburn Basketball and Football recruiting. Enjoy.
Basketball recruits move up and down in final ranking
Three of Auburn’s basketball signees moved up and down in 247’s final recruiting rankings. 5-star point guard Sharife Cooper has been moved down five spots to #24. This is somewhat of a surprise that he is back this far because of his incredible talent. 4-star forward JT Thor moved up four spots to #46. Thor was a top 10 player for 2021 before reclassifying to 2020. 3-star forward Chris Moore, who I’m very exited about, surprisingly moved down from #103 to #118. Those were the only Auburn commits that were included in the 247 Sports top 150.
Next, let’s give you some football recruiting news. Just a warning, It’s good and bad.
Another huge Auburn target picks Tennessee
The Vols have really gotten the best of the recruiting world this spring. Cody Brown, aa 4-star running back who Auburn was hoping to add as their secondary back in the 2021 class, has chosen Tennessee. This is the third huge Auburn target that has committed to UT. 5-star defensive end Dylan Brooks, and 4-star receiver Julian Nixon are also committed to Tennessee. If Auburn doesn’t get going in recruiting, this may be Malzahn’s worst class yet. But maybe there’s some hope. That leads us to the next headline.
Auburn’s top QB target decommits from Virginia Tech
Auburn got some enourmous news on Wednesday. Their top quarterback target Dematrius Davis Jr decomitted from the Hokies. The 4-star passer is one of the best quarterbacks I’ve ever seen out of high school. The incredible athlete has Auburn on the top of his list and could become Auburn’s huge momentum setter should he commit to us. I ike to compare Davis’ highlights to Lamar Jackson. But if there’s one player that I see no difference what so ever in, it’s Miami quarterback De’Eriq King. The two are identical. Let’s hope we can get him.
Dylan Cardwell to announce Thursday
A huge Auburn basketball target that could be the cherry on top to a fantastic recruiting class, will announce Thursday. Dylan Cardwell‘s former teammate Sharife Cooper is on his way to Auburn. Let’s hope it’s the same for Cardwell. He will announce at 4:00 PM CT Thursday. War Eagle!
