Auburn will get one more shot at landing a 5-star

Bruce Pearl has tried his hardest to land another 5-star to accompany Sharife Cooper and top off the best class in program history. But his first effort was outdone by Adam Silver and the NBA G-League when money got in the way of Jalen Green becoming a Tiger whether he’d be a Memphis Tiger or an Auburn Tiger.

It looks as if the G-League which offers elite NBA level development along some money too, might steal Auburn’s last hope at a 5-star player. Jonathan Kuminga, will announce on Monday, and likely choose the G-League. Let’s just say, that league is starting to get on my last nerve. Texas Tech, Auburn, Duke, and Kentucky in order are the most likely schools to land Kuminga if he doesn’t choose the pro route.

Once the #1 prospect in the 2021 class, Kuminga reclassified to 2020, which could potentially be in favor of going pro in the G-League.

This will be Auburn’s last shot to get a 5-star in its 2020 class. Kuminga has a good relationship with Bruce Pearl, but will it be good enough? We’ll find out on Monday. War Eagle!
