Auburn’s best backup linebacker Chandler Wooten has opted out of the football season this year. Wooten won’t play this season due to potential threats of coronavirus. He’s also expecting his son’s birth soon which likely played a factor in his decision.
Wooten was a steady tackler last season. So who can replace him? In my eyes, the answer is simple. Freshman Wesley Steiner.
Steiner was a 4-star recruit coming from Warner Robbins, GA. The linebacker was already expected to make a splash in his first season as a Tiger. Now he moves up in the depth chart.
Based on an interview done by AL.com, Steiner’s mind set fits Auburn as well as any recruit ever has. He works hard and puts everything he has on show in practice.
