Cam Newton is a fantastic football player. The guy won a Heisman and a National Championship at Auburn. He won countless awards. He was the MVP of the NFL in 2016 and made a Super Bowl appearance. But, Superman Cam is teamless. He’s out there in the free agency pool waiting to negotiate with a team. But Cam doesn’t want to be a backup. He wants to be a starter. And there are very few places open for him to be a starter. The Patriots seem committed to former Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham. The Broncos like what they have in Drew Lock. The Chargers drafted a quarterback. So who will sign him? Will he sign? I don’t know. The team I see that might just sign him, is the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta is losing faith in quarterback Matt Ryan. And Ryan is struggling with injury issues in recent seasons. So if Cam goes there, and should they bench Matt Ryan, he can shine as a star in Atlanta. It’s that simple. And besides, Auburn fans do like the Falcons. They’re only an hour away from Auburn. It would be a pretty good fit. Let’s see if it happens. War Eagle.
